At Legetyo, we recognize that many of us come from a history of female genital mutilation (FGM), a cultural tradition that has no place in this generation.

Together, we rise against FGM and stand united in educating our community about its harmful effects. FGM brings no health benefits to girls and only inflicts physical and emotional pain.

Our commitment extends to collaborating with doctors from the diaspora to provide support and resources for reversing the effects of FGM. By working together, we can raise awareness, advocate for change, and ensure that every girl has the right to grow up free from the threat of FGM. Together, we can break the cycle and create a future where all girls are empowered to live healthy, fulfilling lives.

 Entrepreneurship

As education in technology continues to advance, we recognize the potential to create more opportunities for Kalenjin women in entrepreneurship.

For those interested in pursuing business as a career path, we aim to equip them with the necessary entrepreneurship skills through idea creation, enabling them to pursue their desired career outcomes. By introducing women to entrepreneurship, we empower them to gain independence in employment, fostering a sense of self-reliance and empowerment.

Our goal is to enable women to stand on their own feet and strive towards improving their lifestyles. Through direct mentoring provided by successful entrepreneurs within our group, we foster a supportive environment where women can learn from those who have navigated the entrepreneurial journey successfully. Together, we rise, supporting each other in our endeavors to empower Kalenjin women in entrepreneurship and beyond.
